The Island Water Association Welcomes You
The Island Water Association, Inc. is a non-profit, member-owned potable water utility. Using reverse osmosis and taking water from deep wells, we produce the drinking water for Sanibel and Captiva Islands, off the Gulf coast of Lee County, Florida. We are governed by an unpaid Board of Directors and have 31 employees working at IWA in Production, Distribution, Engineering, Maintenance and Administration. IWA is currently serving 5,039 accounts.

Current Irrigation Restrictions
South Florida Water Management District has the following watering restrictions for Sanibel for existing landscaping:
- Residents/Businesses with an odd numbered street address may water on Monday, Wednesday, and/or Saturday, only before 10am or after 4pm.
- Residents/Businesses with an even numbered street address, no street address, or those that irrigate both even and odd addresses may water on Tuesday, Thursday, and/ or Sunday, only before 10am or after 4pm.
Following are watering restrictions for Captiva and unincorporated Lee County for existing landscaping:
- Residents/Businesses with an odd numbered street address may water on Wednesday and/or Saturday, only from midnight to 9am and/or 5pm to midnight.
- Residents/Businesses with an even numbered street address or no street address my water on Tuesday and /or Sunday, only from midnight to 9am and/or 5pm to midnight.
